Hydroxyl Generation

Hydroxyl generators produce hydroxyl radicals (·OH) — the same molecules the sun produces in the upper atmosphere to break down pollutants. Hydroxyls oxidize odor-causing molecules, kill bacteria and viruses on contact, and are safe to use in occupied spaces (unlike ozone, which is toxic and requires evacuation).

For persistent musty smells, smoke odors, biological contamination, and VOC issues, hydroxyl treatment is one of the most effective tools available. The Dry Boys runs hydroxyl units sized to the cubic footage of the affected space, typically over 24–72 hours depending on contamination severity.

EPA-Registered Antimicrobials

For surface treatment after water damage or mold work, we use EPA-registered antimicrobials specifically rated for the contamination type. These aren't grocery store cleaners — they're hospital-grade products with documented kill claims for specific bacteria, viruses, and fungal species. Application is via fogging or direct contact depending on the surface and contamination.

HEPA Filtration

HEPA air scrubbers run during and after treatment to remove airborne particulates, spores, and dust. HEPA filters capture 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger — which includes mold spores, bacteria, viruses bound to droplets, and most allergens. Multiple air-changes per hour are calculated based on room size and contamination level.

Smoke & VOC Odor Treatment

After fire damage, after a long-vacancy property purchase, or after chronic chemical exposure, residual odors are bonded to surfaces and absorbed into porous materials. Surface cleaning alone won't remove them. Our protocol combines:

• Hydroxyl generation to oxidize airborne odor molecules
• Surface cleaning with appropriate solvents
• HEPA scrubbing to remove particulates that hold odor
• Sealing of surfaces that cannot be fully cleaned
